In California there’s something in the water, literally. A stranded cruise ship, the Carnival Splendor, was disabled off the coast of Baja California (technically in Mexico) and is being towed with 3,299 passengers aboard to port in San Diego.

The cruise ship became stranded after a fire broke out in the engine roomMonday that left the vessel without air conditioning or the a kitchen in which to cook hot food. The U.S. Navy has been airlifting supplies to the USS Ronald Reagan, and from their helicopters have been dropping crates of spam and pallets of bottled water for the bewildered holiday-goers.

As if that wasn’t strange enough, yesterday we reported the mysterious launch of a missile off the California coast about 35 miles out to sea. No one has claimed responsibility, and no one can say conclusively what kind of missile was fired. All we can say is that there is something in the water.
